About Me
Chris is an E-RYT 500 yoga instructor who has been teaching yoga for almost a decade in Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas.
An ex business professional and USC grad, Chris is a versatile instructor who enjoys teaching a variety of formats across the yoga spectrum from Nidra to Sculpt and Flow
He's a firm believer in the alchemical power of yoga for your body, your mind, and your spirit; having personally used his practice to rebuild his spine health after a double discectomy in 2019, evolve his learned societal and operant conditioning, and reconnect with the Divine. When he isn't wearing his Lead Teacher or General Manager personas he likes spending time at home with his amazing wife Sarah and their three dogs, reading, writing, and tending his gardens. You can catch him out in the wild volunteering for local dog rescues, hiking, tubing down the Catawba, and dancing to music around the city with his LED flow toys!
Within my teaching, I aim to help each student move with awareness, breathe with intention, and approach each practice with compassion.
My Education
I initially enrolled in the 200 HR Goal Yoga YTT with Ken Heptig in early 2017 as a way to honor and grow the practice I started several years prior. Originally I had no intention of teaching classes since I had a career in Project Management, but the early passing of my dad from lung cancer combined with the joy of teaching yoga to students across the greater Charlotte Metro area acted as a catalyst to switch to teaching full time.
This passion led me to enroll in Asheville Yoga Studio’s 300 HR YTT several years later, where I studied foundational yoga texts like the Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika; and topics like Ayurveda, Chakras, Bhandas; and how yoga can be integrated through psychological, therapeutic, and traumatic lenses.
